Minnetonka Lutheran Church
The MLC Sunday School students brought 100 school kits to our worship services on March 21 to be dedicated to God’s mission.
They have brought their offerings to class each Sunday, and these offerings were used to buy school supplies which will be sent to children in 21 countries by Lutheran World Relief (LWR).
MLC sewers made these sturdy tote bags from donated fabric to contain the supplies. The students packed kits in their classes. The school kits will now be taken to the LWR warehouse in St. Paul and sent around the world.
The Sunday School students are donating 30 more school bags this year because they have been faithful in bringing their offerings, and the MLC sewers have been faithful in using their skills and donating fabric.
Lutheran World Relief personnel tell us that these school kits may provide the only supplies for children returning to school after the disruption of war or natural disasters. School kits help parents continue their children’s education, even while living in a refugee camp. School kits may also be used in adult literacy classes as well.
